James Coy MD

As a graduate of the University of Florida, Dr. Coy is proud to be a "Gator". His medical training took him to Cebu City in the Philippines with plenteous training in general medicine and surgery, nutrition and tropical diseases. He completed post-graduate medical training at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City before starting his first six years of medical practice in Marysville, Kansas where he acquired intense experience in obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, general surgery, emergency and family medicine. He was a Company Surgeon for the Union Pacific Railroad, the industrial physician for several local companies and served as the County Coroner.

In 1985 Dr. Coy came home to Central Florida and worked in Emergency Medicine and as a hospital physician. At the same time Dr. Coy began a multi-year stint in the walk-in clinic business. As he frustrated the staff for "taking too long with his patients," he won their praise as well, and the satisfaction of his patients because he kept digging until he got to the bottom of their problems. But the choice of solutions just seemed incomplete.

Over 20 years ago, Dr. Coy had already been introduced to Environmental Medicine and Allergy therapies not used by conventional physicians. It was at that time that Dr. Coy began to add to his training. Dr. Coy has acquired multiple skills that enable him to see patients as degenerating but thriving, imbalanced but correctable, turning despair into hope, helping people to regain control of their own health. Dr. Coy has a reputation in The Villages area community as a problem solver. Because of his traditional medical training, Dr. Coy can understand the reasoning behind pharmaceutical use and surgical decisions.

Mikhail Kogan MD

Dr. Mikhail Kogan obtained his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. Subsequently he competed his internal medicine residency at Montefiore Program for Social Medicine and fellowship in Geriatrics at George Washington University, where he remained on faculty.

Weaving those tools into the fabric of his medical practice has enabled Dr. Kogan to provide innovative and effective treatments to his patients with minimal use of invasive procedures or heavy reliance on medications, to understand the importance of self-exploration, awareness and beneficial lifestyle changes as essential stepping stones on his patients’ paths towards better health.

His commitment to the importance of integrating different healing modalities with modern-day Western medicine has led him to become a founding board member of the American Board of Integrative Medicine, the director of the George Washington University Integrative Geriatrics Fellowship and co-director of the Integrative Medicine Track program at the George Washington University School of Medicine, a part-time faculty member of the George Washington Institute for Spirituality and Health, and GW Center for Aging, Health and Humanities.

Shanhong Lu MD PhD

Dr. Shanhong Lu is a third-generation female medical doctor. She grew up with two traditions of medicine: her grandmother was a traditional Chinese medicine doctor and her mom was the first female cardiologist and professor of medicine. Dr. Lu holds an MD, and a PhD in Human Physiology, and was postdoctoral fellowship trained in Genetics of Hypertension. Dr. Lu is a published author in hypertension research and a public speaker for environmental health and sustainable health care.  She is double board certified in Internal Medicine and in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. She also strongly believes in optimizing women’s hormones through biorhythmic bioidentical dosing.  Her interest in the root causes of chronic diseases was inspired by her trials and errors healing not only her own endocrine and autoimmune challenges, but also thousands of people with serious complex medical issues.

Genes raise the gun and environmental factors pulls the trigger.  Over the past 20 years, based on some genetic and environmental assessment, Dr. Lu has been solving numerous “untreatable" chronic complex illnesses by implementing a core scientific program.  This program focuses on 3 simple steps: (1) naturopathic detoxification support (with genomic guidance and practical environmental assessment), (2) organic whole food and plant based lifestyle, (3) reestablish neuroendocrine immune homeostasis.  She strongly believes in the power of personal responsibility and the ability to heal.  She also honor personal timing and choices.  She encourages living life with authenticity and courage.  Her mission is to empower you to awaken the doctor within.  Patients heal themselves.

After 20 years in practice, collaborating with hundreds of practitioners across all specialties, in conventional, functional medicine and naturopathic principles, she is now opening her new chapter as a medical educator, researcher, collaborator, and teacher to people from all walks of life and profession.  She realized without educating practitioners in busy clinical settings, the majority of patients living in a polluted environment will not heal effectively and many could exhaust their financial resources and worse of all delay their precious time window in healing.  Dr. Lu believe in access to health care for all people regardless their insurance and financial status.  For this very reason, she is now offering her donation based coaching program to both patients and practitioners who are interested in working together.
